Our original mandate was to promote the art of Chinese Wushu, with the intent of having it become an Olympic sport.  However through the years and taking our social environment, and the Canadian Cultural Mosaic into consideration, our mission has since evolved.

Our foremost mission is to preserve and promote Chinese culture, primarily through the art of Lion Dance.  We accomplish this by first providing a space for anyone who wishes to learn the art of Lion Dance.  Then once a participant feels confident enough, they are welcome to joining the Lion Dance Team in live performance events, helping promote culture through public performance and interaction.

Another important mission is to also promote and foster connection between Canadian Born Chinese and the heritage and experiences of their fore bearers.  By communicating in English and Chinese, learning and experiencing facets and aspects of Chinese culture and tradition through the social interactions with immigrant communities, we hope that we can narrow the disconnects that can exist between generations.  We also hope that these experiences will foster new friendships and nurture discussion and appreciation of the experiences, struggles and stories of past generations, and their journey to Canada.  Since many of the team members are also born here, it's also a constant learning journey for the whole association as well.
